My husband and I are proud parents of twins. I have a passion for working with children young adults and families. I help young adults learn to navigate the adjustments of college life as well as helping new moms adjust to their new roles and finding balance in their life. I understand the important role that parents play in the treatment process and the unique challenges that parenthood can bring. It can be especially overwhelming and difficult if your child faces certain challenges, I want to support you in your role as a parent and together we can help your child and family thrive
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician, with a background in social work. I specialize in working with children with a wide range of behavioral and emotional needs, such as ADHD, anxiety, adjustment/separation anxiety, ODD, depression, mood-related disorders, trauma/loss, social and academic problems, behavior problems at home/school, divorce and adoption.
I use Activity-based therapies that provide an emotionally safe environment for emotional expression through play, art, and self-expression. These therapies allow children to work through anxieties, fears and deal with overwhelming feelings and trauma. I also provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing.
I conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine your child's individual needs. I provide consultation with teachers, doctors or other providers to ensure that your child receives the best possible treatment.
On-site services at your child's school or daycare are available when appropriate.
Therapist’s Qualifications and Clinical Background
I earned my Bachelors degree in Social Work from University NC Wilmington and a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I have a background in Social Work, School Counseling, Agency and Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Family Therapy.
