Heather Simpson,  LCSW

Hi my name is Heather Simpson and I have been working in the mental health field as a therapist for since May of 2016. I was previously working in community mental health as an outpatient therapist. I have experience working in a variety of settings including; outpatient behavioral health clinic, homeless shelter, level III female adolescent group home, primary care clinic, and free clinic. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice with clients. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and borderline personality disorder.

I was born in raised in the Tar Heel state. When I am not seeing clients, I enjoy reading, doing yoga, spending time with my beagle Macy May, hanging out with friends, spending time with family, binge watching game of thrones, and I am a movie buff.

Therapist’s Qualifications and Clinical Background

I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May of 2016. I became a fully licensed clinical social worker in July of 2018.
