Hayden Ahlbrandt, LCMHCA, NCC

Contract Therapist

Hello! My name is Hayden, and I am excited to have recently moved to the Wilmington area. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, and I primarily work with children and adolescents, specializing in play therapy. I strive to help my clients learn to regulate their nervous system to be better equipped to connect to themself and move towards being their most authentic self. This is done by creating a safe environment that allows them to move towards any difficult emotions in order to challenge their perceptions of the challenging events in their lives. This can be a fit for working through trauma, behavioral and anger issues, depression, grief and loss, attachment issues, struggles relating to being your authentic self, and more.

Beginning my counseling career as an elementary School Counselor, my passion is supporting children in their quest to seek out and be who they truly are. I am a certified Synergetic Play Therapist, a modality that "blend(s) the therapeutic power of play with nervous system regulation, interpersonal neurobiology, physics, attachment, mindfulness, and therapist authenticity" (synergeticplaytherapy.com).

As I am only one person in each child's world, I strongly believe that an important part of my work is supporting you as the child's caregiver. I strive to keep you informed and engaged throughout the therapeutic process and at times can provide resources and approaches. I believe by working together we can help your child to flourish!

I look forward to speaking with you and supporting you and your child in their quest to be their most authentic self!
