Maria Falcioni, MS, LCMHC, LPC
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician here in NC, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I moved to Charlotte in 2018 and have enjoyed exploring the city. I enjoy going to live music, doing yoga, and camping. I have a cat, Gracie, who if we do any virtual appointments, you will likely meet. I work with children, adolescents, and young adults, ages 3-21. I love helping children learn to express themselves and work through their feelings, working with adolescents on being more comfortable with who they are and managing the stress of being a teenager, and helping young adults work though that transition to college and adulthood. I also work with parents to be a team member in the treatment process. I am stating the obvious by saying parenting is hard, parents often need support, guidance, and/or encouragement to work through this difficult time with their child.
Since 2011, I have had the awesome opportunity to work in a variety of settings, such as schools, homes, and outpatient offices. No matter where I am, I want everyone to feel safe, accepted, heard, and validated when they are in my office. It is important for me that my office is a place where everyone can be themselves without judgement, that is when healing can start. Therapy can be scary at any age, giving the time to build the foundation of therapeutic trust is of utmost importance.
I provide individual therapy with children, adolescents, and young adults. Though I don’t provide family therapy, I do provide parent coaching. I don’t believe therapy is one size fits all, therefore I use a variety of treatment options such as expressive art, play, bibliotherapy, CBT, and TF-CBT. I also believe collaborative care is important, so I often consult with schools, psychiatrists, and others that may be part of the treatment team. Taking the step to receive treatment for yourself or for a child can be nerve wracking, I will always answer any questions you have to make this process as comfortable and easy as possible!
